• A 24 year old from Meeker, CO broke both legs and sustained injuries in an industrial accident, and had to be flown by helicopter from Pioneers hospital to Denver.
• Christo stood in Rifle Gap at midnight Saturday and cried as the wind ripped his “Valley Curtain’’ from its moorings and made a torn flag of defeat.

• With public notice limited to a one-line item published in an obscure government computer database called the FM table, the Federal Communications commissions revealed that it has granted a petition to reserve a frequency for a powerful FM radio station for Meeker.
• It is fire prevention week, and a group of Meeker volunteer firefighters visited Meeker Elementary to present some fire safety tips and gave the children a ride through town on the fire truck.

• Rarely a day passes that someone doesn’t comment to us about the many changes along Main Street and the local downtown clean up effort by local businesses to upgrade and improve Rangely’s downtown. An attractive new front was put up and painted on mainstreet for Continental Emsco.
• The Rio Blanco Chariot association will start its chariot racing season on November 7.
