If you miss the parade of Slave of the Silver serpent at the Festival this year you will regret it. 

The Sanderson building is undergoing extensive repairs. 

The number of students from outside districts in attendance at the Meeker school is in evidence as showing the growing popularity of this town as an educational center.

Our long dry spell was broken Tuesday when heavy rains fell all over this section of the country. The down pour was particularly heavy in this part of the country. 

Five men from the Midwest crew working on the Iles dome were in Meeker this week dressing their bits for a new well to be spudded in next week. 

F A Brown of Strawberry was a town visitor Tuesday.

Nearly 30 percent of Rio Blanco County’s registered voters turned out for the primary election Tuesday. 

Joe Delaney and Douglas Sanderson departed for the outside last Saturday. The boys will stay on the outside until their “meal tickets” run out, or they may tackle the big world and show that they can paddle their own canoes. 

Sleepy Cat Guest Ranch will be closed this Friday evening, Only. See you at the football game in Carbondale!

4-H members in Rio Blanco County did an excellent job exhibiting at the 1999 Colorado State Fair.  

After the regular business meeting Carolyn Sullivan and Loyd Tucker presented gifts to Sandy Taylor, Worthy Matron and Don LeFevre Worthy Patron. 

The Rio Blanco Board of county commissioners on Sept. 7 voted to place a measure on the Nov. 2 ballot asking voters to overturn term limitations for all elected county officials.

Did you know that the Old Testament is full of heroes? Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the Book of Daniel, can you stand up to peer pressure and stand up for what is right? The youth of today can be the next generation of heroes tomorrow. 

Navy Airman Scott L. Johns, son of Wayne L. Johns of Rangely, recently completed U.S Navy basic training at RecruitTraining Command, Great Lakes.
