The drought of the past month was broken Wednesday, but it did not rain good and hard till Thursday evening.

The 1974 three-day antelope season in Colorado will open on Sept. 28 in most of the antelope areas of the state.

Meeker Cowboy number 30, Tony Gianinetti, carried the ball during last Friday night’s game at Starbuck Stadium. The Cowboys played hard, but we were defeated by the Bears.
The girls played good volleyball all weekend, but couldn’t seem to bring home a victory.
Five junior Rio Blanco County 4-H members received a two night trip to the State Fair from the Rio Blanco County 4-H foundation as a result of their hard work in the 4-H program.

The Panthers lost their first conference game to the Battle Mountain Huskie by a score of 20 to 7 last Friday night in Rangely.
The annual door-to-door drive of the breath of life campaign to fight children’s lung-damaging diseases will take place Sept. 21.
