It seems like all the wildlife in Rio Blanco County can be found hanging out on County Road 8 on the way east toward the Flat Tops Wilderness Area and Trappers Lake, but this large herd of deer, about 35 in all, were spotted along County Road 4, north and east of Meeker. The herd was enjoying the sunny weather and the sprouts of fresh grasses coming up in a valley field.
