MEEKER | Meeker’s Farm Bureau Insurance Agency, which first opened in 1950, has a new agent in place effective July 1. Locals may recognize Kris Deines from her role as member coordinator for the Meeker Chamber of Commerce and most recently as general manager for Trail & Hitch Tiny Homes and RV Campground and Trailhead Cabins, but she’s not new to insurance, having worked as an agent for five years in Delta with State Farm years ago.
Deines said she’s looking forward to her new role in the community, with goal of providing friendly service, competitive insurance rates, and localized, personal help with the community’s insurance needs.
Farm Bureau’s insurance services are not limited to agricultural endeavors. The company offers competitive pricing on multiple insurance lines, including auto, business, and more. A nominal annual $40 membership fee opens a variety of discounts for members, not just for insurance. Having a local agent gives members the opportunity to personalize their coverage for their specific needs.
Deines, who grew up in Craig, has been married to her husband Chad for 28 years. The couple has four adult children, five grandchildren and one more on the way. Chad is the operations manager for White River Energy. They moved back to Meeker, where Chad grew up, four years ago.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be with the Colorado Farm Bureau Insurance. The vision and goals set forth through this business align perfectly with my own. I look forward meeting all of you in person soon, and to serving the Meeker area and the Rio Blanco County community,” Deines wrote.
Joining Deines in the Meeker office as production assistant is Julia Camp, former owner of the Hair Hut on Market Street.
An open house is planned later this summer, date to be announced.
The office, located at 733 Main in the Halandras Building, is now open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Deines can be reached by phone at 970-878-3664 or by email at [email protected].
