It’s the first of our annual five-week Shop@Home holiday section that both encourages residents to “shop local” and gives those who do a chance to win some extra bucks with which to shop.
When you stop in at any of the participating merchants in Meeker and Rangely, take a second to fill out one of the entry tickets and put it in the Shop@Home mailbox. Each week, beginning with our Nov. 27 issue, we will draw winners’ names (one from Meeker, one from Rangely) to receive $25 in Shop@Home bucks that can be spent at any of the Shop@Home participating stores.
It’s fun, it supports local businesses, and you might just get $25 to spend on an extra gift for yourself or a loved one. If you have a favorite business that isn’t participating, ask them to call the HT and sign up. It’s one of our best advertising rates for the year.
By advertising, you’re supporting another local business: the Herald Times.

Do you want to be part of the solution to some of our county’s woes surrounding mental health? You’re invited to attend a meeting on Dec. 2 at the Weiss Conference Room at CNCC in Rangely at 7 p.m.
We’ll be joined by representatives from local, regional and state organizations to discuss potential ways to increase access to mental health resources, bolster training for first responders, and create more open lines of communication between local government and the community.
It’s easy to point out problems. It takes more effort to think of potential solutions to those problems, and to come up with creative ways we can work together, enhance communication, and support those on the front lines as well as those who are in distress. Let’s be part of the solution.
