phMKSaturdayColorRunOne of the new events at this year’s ERBM Recreation and Park District’s Customer Appreciation Day was the inaugural Color Run as the kids raced around the county courthouse, coming up on stations where they were splattered with powdered water-based paint, which made for rainbows of color on the kids’ clothes, in their hair and in the courthouse lawn.

Games, the Matt Holliday Band, root beer floats by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society and face-painting artists were also on hand for the entertainment of residents and visitors.

The live music, free burgers, hot dogs, salads and drinks prepared and served by the Meeker Lions Club, a water slide, face painting, a color run and a wide variety of games kept folks occupied from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
