The reds, golds, light greens, yellows and dark greens offer a sharp contrast to each other near the Ripple Creek area east of Meeker by about 40 miles, near the turnoff to Trappers Lake where drivers can continue over County Road 8 to Yampa. With the heavy cloud buildup, there was quite a mix of colors on Saturday for the eye to take in.
