Rio Blanco County will be offering public tours of the Rio Blanco County Courthouse in Meeker on April 8 and 9 to give the public one last opportunity to see the facility before the renovations begin. The tours will from 2 to 6 p.m. on April 8 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 9. The courthouse held the jail, the sheriff’s office, the district attorney, budget and finance, the assessor, the clerk and recorder, the treasurer and the courts. The need for remodeling is due to the jail area no longer being safe and the ultimate goal is to get all county services into the downtown. The plan is to have the courthouse house budget and finance, the assessor, the treasurer, the clerk and recorder, economic development, facility management, the commissioners, the building department, planning, human resources, the county attorney and the sales and use tax office.
