Gates leads Avey in unofficial commissioner race results

Ty Gates is the winner of the District 3 commissioner primary in Rio Blanco County, with 62.49% of the vote.

In unofficial results posted Tuesday, the Rio Blanco County Clerk and Recorder’s office reports Ty Gates is the winner of the District 3 commissioner seat over challenger Mona Avey.

Gates has 1,043 votes (62.49%) and Avey has 626 votes (37.51%). The winner of the race will replace Si Woodruff on the board of commissioners.
