Get help keeping those resolutions- Rio Blanco County resident launches faith and fitness business — Coombs Strength and Conditioning

RBC |   With 2025 officially here, many people make New Year’s resolutions to get fit, but what if there was a place where you could build both your body and your faith?

Tytus Coombs, a Rangely resident and owner of Coombs Strength and Conditioning, is excited to offer services that combine sports performance, personal training, and custom programming. Coombs explained how his faith and fitness journey became the cornerstone of his business.

“That is what changed my life—finding and trusting God with all things in my life and my fitness journey,” Coombs said. “It has connected me with the most influential people in my life. I want to give back to others in both faith and fitness, just as others have done for me. Through the constant pursuit of faith and fitness, everyone can achieve amazing things in their life.”

When it comes to his faith-centered approach, Coombs often draws inspiration from the Bible.

“The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples and that we need to honor and glorify God with them,” he said. “It also tells us that God has plans for us to prosper—not just to be average. God calls us to care for our health spiritually, physically, and through healthy habits. By doing so, we’re better equipped to help others and share Jesus’ love. When faith and fitness align with God’s design, we can reach the potential He has for us and experience the prosperity He promises us.”

Coombs tailors his fitness programs to align with his clients’ goals, whether it’s building strength, improving endurance, or losing weight. His workouts and programming are customized to fit individual needs, and Coombs ensures they are adaptable for beginners or advanced athletes alike.

He also incorporates faith-based practices into his training, such as prayer and meditation. For his online programming, he includes Bible verses before each workout. He has also led group Bible studies with sports teams after workouts.

“I’m always willing to talk about Jesus before, during, and after a session,” Coombs said. “Devotionals and prayers are powerful tools to strengthen our walk with Christ and navigate this world.”

Building community is another key focus of Coombs’ business. He connects with clients both in and outside training sessions to foster and deepen their relationships with each other.

Coombs said his inspiration for starting the business came from his love for his community.

“I want to give back to the community that has done so much for me,” he said. “Being raised in Rangely and spending a lot of time in Meeker, I have a deep love for the county and want to provide others with the same opportunities I had.”

Looking ahead, Coombs has ambitious goals for the next five years. He also explained what his current hours are.

“My goal is to run my business full time, support my family, and work with 20 to 30 clients regularly,” he said. “I also hope to lead group workouts and Bible studies, creating a lasting impact in faith and fitness,” stated Coombs.

“Online programing and coaching is completely flexible and the client is able to follow workouts on a very easy app with videos to show the movements that can be done whenever is convenient to the client. Sports performance and personal training can be scheduled to fit my current work schedule before or after work. I am very flexible and able to move things around to make things work for the client,” Coombs said.

Coombs offers sports performance and personal training sessions for $45 per session, with discounts available for groups. Rates for personal programming and online coaching range from $150 to $400 per month, depending on the complexity of the plan.
