Jeremy and Cherlynn Muxlow are the new owners
MEEKER | When former Meeker resident Makala Barton opened Country Raised — a boutique retail shop specializing in rustic home decor and furnishings — the store quickly became a community favorite with a loyal following. Barton sold the store to Samantha Lopez in 2019 after relocating to a larger Main Street storefront in 2017. Lopez continued the store’s tradition through the tumultuous events of 2020, and has now sold the store to new — but familiar — local faces, Cherlynn and Jeremy Muxlow.
For the Muxlows, it’s a change of pace from the lawn care service they’ve owned and operated for several years. They sold that business to the Allen family last spring. Retail brings with it new opportunities and challenges, which the couple said they are enjoying. The new endeavor promises to keep the Muxlows busy as they expand on the store’s healthy retail foundation.
A grand opening event is planned this Friday, Aug. 27 beginning at 11 a.m. with door prizes, snacks and a chance to see the store’s latest goods.
