MEEKER – Andrea Harmon of Meeker is this week’s “home of” honoree. Andrea started visiting Meeker in 1971 and moved here in 1984.
Andrea is the child support enforcement administrator for Rio Blanco County Department of Social Services. She has worked for Social Services since September 1985.
She is an avid reader and also enjoys crocheting and plastic canvas needlepoint.
Andrea is a founding member of the Flat Tops Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and has been a very active member of the Meeker Lions Club for the past 15 years. She was recently elected Lions Club secretary and also serves as the Lions Club games manager.
Andrea is the current vice president, past president and parade chair of the Range Call Committee and is also involved with the Colorado Family Support Council, a group of child support professionals throughout the state who coordinates an annual statewide child support workers training conference.
Her response to what she likes to do in her spare time was, “What spare time?”
Andrea loves the people in Meeker. “This is truly small town America at its finest. I love the way everyone smiles and waves and honestly seem to care about each other. Case in point, the recent benefit for Alyssa Jones, the 4-year-old leukemia patient.”
