Members of the Meeker Lions Club, right, helped feed several area residents and their children as part of the Meeker Kids’ Fishing Day on Saturday at Circle Park. Roughly 125 trout were stocked in the back irrigation ditch by Colorado Parks and Wildlife for the occasion, and children of all ages tried their luck at catching the fish from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A bit too young to start casting a fishing rod, Myles and Parker Dupire, the sons of Matt and Nicole Dupire of Meeker, still enjoyed the sights during the Meeker Kids’ Fishing Day at Circle Park in Meeker. The event, which ran from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, was sponsored by Colorado Parks and Wildlife while the Meeker Lions Club served lunch and refreshments. A large number of children, aided by their older siblings or parents, took part in the event.
