RANGELY I Cedar Ridges Golf Course in Rangely was the site of the annual Bernie’s Tourney, a four-person scramble, featuring 10 teams, with players from Rangely, Grand Junction and Vernal, Utah.
The par 62 course is played from tee boxes and pin locations specially placed by Bernie Shafer, Cedar Ridges’ course superintendent, but the placement didn’t seem to matter for the champions.
Rangely’s Robby Elam, Justin Halcomb and Mark Hayden, along with Tony McComb from Grand Junction shot a 10-under par 52 to win Bernie’s Tourney.
Tyson and Trevor Dana teamed up with Ben Buckley and Steve Wilson, and the foursome from Vernal, finished three shots behind the leaders for second-place honors.
