MEEKER | Meeker’s Rowdy Rosendahl is finding success in front of bigger audiences these days. Rosendahl is a talented musician in a family of talented musicians who sings, songwrites and plays guitar. A graduate of Meeker High School, Rosendahl was one of 15 to make it to the semifinals of the National FFA Talent Show Competition at the FFA National Convention in 2022.
Rosendahl achieved another new milestone in July, winning the 42nd annual Country Showdown in Vernal, Utah, with an original song titled “The Forever Dance.”
Rosendahl expressed surprise at his win, given the tough competition, which included his sister. “If it wasn’t for my family I wouldn’t have even shared my singing voice. Or even shared any of my original songs written. My sister Amy entered my audition videos of her choice along with hers, and we both made it. I thought she would win over me in the competition,” Rosendahl said via email.
The first place win earned him a cash prize and the opportunity to open for artist Easton Corbin at the Uintah County Fair on Aug. 17.
For someone who began his performing career with some reluctance, Rosendahl is learning to love it.
“I enjoy the competitions and the events put together to build my confidence around a listening crowd. I used to hate singing in front of people. Now I love it. I’m not scared of it and I’m willing to share it for those who want to hear. I am also thankful for God blessing me with all I have, even with the crazy things I’ve done in life, I’m able to stay strong and keep pushing in all I do. The only regret I have in my talents is not sharing them early enough. I am currently working on, and producing my original song that I’m hoping will be released on stores by December,” he said. “I try not to ever doubt myself because I believe anyone is capable of anything if they really want it. The only limitation in this world is your mind.”
