RBC | Rio Blanco County dispatch received a 911 call midday Friday, June 25 from a male party who said he was suicidal and armed. RBC Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Meeker Police Department and Meeker Fire/Rescue responded to County Rd. 5.
When law enforcement located the individual, he shot himself. The incident was not an officer-involved shooting, according to a press release from the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office.
Colorado Bureau of Investigation will lead the investigation. The man, whose name will not be released until next of kin has been notified, had been reported missing from another county.
