Western Colorado has one of the highest health insurance rates in the state, and possibly the nation, with a limited choice of insurers from which to choose. That’s a challenge for small businesses financially and in terms of hiring and keeping employees. To address that challenge, the Meeker Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Small Association Leadership Alliance (SALA) to provide a “high-quality alternative healthcare solution” for chamber members.
The SALA Healthcare Program is not insurance. It’s a cost-sharing program with a choice of preventive care plans and options for copayments and telemedicine. It’s available for full-time, part-time, seasonal, and sole proprietors. Cost savings are as much as 50% per month. The Steamboat Chamber of Commerce has partnered with SALA. Chamber members can check out the details of the program at http://www.salahealthcare.org/org-program/meeker-chamber/ or watch a “get started” video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwlTwF2PJ3A&feature=youtu.be.
