A huge congratulations to hometown hero Joe LeBlanc for his fourth All-American win at the NCAA wrestling championships last week in St. Louis, Mo. Your hometown is proud of you, and with good reason.
Up for a really strange spring vacation? You can sign up for a 100th anniversary of the Titanic. The cruise is operated by a cruise line whose parent company built the original ship, will set sail from Southampton on April 8, has bookings available for 1,309 passengers (just like the doomed 1912 voyage), and will follow the same route, including arriving at the spot the Titanic struck the infamous iceberg and having a memorial service at 2:20 a.m. April 15, coinciding with the ship’s demise. Sounds creepy, doesn’t it? Even creepier, the cheapest ticket is $5,305.88 for one passenger.
There are all sorts of centennial celebrations this year, including Chevrolet, the Oreo cookie, Girl Scouts of America, the city of Branson, Mo., the Kansas State Fair, the states of Arizona and New Mexico, the San Fransisco Symphony and the Cherry Blossom festival in Washington, D.C.
