Meeker

Meeker Locals

The tradition of April Fool’s Day rolls all the way back to 1582, when Charles IX reformed the calendar and moved the New Year to January 1. Some of the more, shall we say, rebellious, among the people refused to comply with the calendar change and continued to celebrate the new year on April 1. Those folk became the subject of ridicule and practical jokes.
Have you noticed the annual exodus of residents? It seems that it takes some very sturdy folk to stay here year-round, year after year.
Are you a birthday baby this week? These folks are: Kim Rule, March 31; Leif Joy, Mike Knezovich and Lois Richardson, April 1; Cameron Stranathan and Doris Walters, April 2; Kimberly Devereaux, April 3; Jessie Corbin, April 4; Mikayla Brink, April 5; David Buckles, J.H. Sheridan and Shelbi Blazon, April 6.
Happy anniversary this week to Richard and Brinda Bland, April 4.
Did we miss you? We’re sorry! Please let us know so we can add you to our birthday/anniversary database.
