Medical bills got you down? Take advantage of the 9Health Fair this Saturday, April 25 at the Fairfield Center in Meeker, from 7-11 a.m. The basic screenings offered are valuable tools for assessing your current state of health. Many of them are free, and others are offered at significantly reduced cost. See the ad in this week’s paper for more information!
All kinds of Meeker people are exploring the Internet phenomenon known as Facebook. Check it out! Gee, we all live so far away from each other, it’s just more convenient to communicate via computer. The age of “The Jetsons” has arrived.
Curtis Cesspooch, tribal chairman of the Northern Ute tribe, told Lt. Gov. Barbara O’Brien that the state of Colorado should “issue an apology” to the tribe for exiling them from their homeland after the Meeker “incident” in 1879. The Fort Duschesne area, where the tribe now lives, is “nice,” but not “homeland,” he stated.
Happy anniversary wishes to Bobby and Wendy Gutierrez, April 23; John and Connie Kelley, April 24; Buddy and Lisa Pakuer, April 26; and Gary and Patti Merriam, April 26.
