MEEKER I The Meeker Police Department is investigating a robbery at the Meeker General Mercantile (MGM) store located at the corner of 10th and Market streets.
“It is still under investigation,” Meeker Chief of Police said of the robbery which occurred over the weekend.
“We’re shocked,” Becky Dunham, who along with her husband Gary own and operate the MGM. “They took the jewelry in both cases. There was no forced entry, maybe a door was not locked properly, we don’t know.”
Dunham said the cash drawer of the cash register was broken into and taken into the office, which was somewhat ransacked. Dunham said she would have to do an inventory to determine the dollar amount of the jewelry taken.
