Trick or treat Oct. 23
RANGELY | The graveyard has been sleeping—it’s time to wake up all the goblins, witches and ghosts to join us in bringing back trick-or-treating at Halloween. Come join us at our house (the Ruperts), 208 Hillcrest Circle in Rangely on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 6-9 p.m. to visit with friends and enjoy free homemade doughnuts, hot cocoa and other treats.
Trick or treat in Sage Hills Oct. 30
MEEKER | Trick or treaters are welcome in Sage Hills subdivision on Saturday, Oct. 30 after Pumpkins, Eats and Treats. Homes with lights on welcome little ghosts and goblins.
Candy donations for Wing parade
MEEKER | The Walbridge Wing is seeking donations of candy for the outdoor costume parade in the Wing courtyard on Oct. 30 from 2–3 p.m. Candy donations can be dropped off at the Wing between now and Oct. 30. Weather permitting, come and join us.
MACC art school
MEEKER | Thursday Art School, hosted by the Meeker Arts and Cultural Council, is back! Kids ages 5–14 can attend every other Thursday for fun projects and a snack! Art schools are scheduled for Oct. 28, and Nov 4 and 11 from 4–5:30 p.m. at the Heritage Culture Center at 517 Park Avenue. Cost is $10 per child. Visit meekerartsandculture.org for more info.
4-H happenings
RBC | 4-H enrollment for 2021-2022 is now open. Visit https://v2.4honline.com to register.
Hogwarts will be Oct. 30, 5–9 p.m., green 4-H Building, food and games. Free STEM activities for the kids in the old and new exhibit halls.
RBCHS meeting
MEEKER | The quarterly meeting of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society will be Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Heritage Culture Center. Costumes are encouraged, especially historical costumes!
Nominate Meeker’s Citizen of the Year
MEEKER | Submit your nomination for Meeker’s Citizen of the Year by Nov. 1, 2021. Each year the Meeker Chamber of Commerce honors an outstanding person (or couple) that has made a significant contribution to our community. The winner will be announced at the Chamber of Commerce annual celebration on Dec. 3. Library book club
MEEKER | The Meeker Public Library book club will be reading “The Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller. We will discuss the book on Monday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to join in the fun.
