Community News Roundup ~ đź’ť Feb. 12, 2026

Happy Herald Day!

Here’s a reminder for all of you who forgot to pick up a card or something sweet for Valentine’s Day on Saturday!

There is a theory that dogs can see yellow, so I bought a yellow duck for Nellie in the hope that she wouldn’t disembowel it and leave stuffing everywhere. It didn’t work. Even if she can see colors I don’t think she cares if it’s a stuffy with a squeaker.

For all of you out-of-town readers who’ve asked: No, we still don’t have snow on the ground. We had about five minutes of flurries on Tuesday and some rain and clouds on Wednesday. Fingers crossed for a rainy summer.

Thank you to all our newsletter readers, our online subscribers, and our print subscribers. Your continued support is appreciated!
