Your community news roundup: Feb. 8, 2024

Hi friends!

We have just about 2,000 subscribers to this newsletter now, so hello to all the new folks here! πŸ‘‹

I try very hard NOT to think about how many people actually read this email because it gives me ridiculous anxiety ( … that could also be the fourth cup of coffee … hmm.) Essentially, we like to keep things 1. short, 2. sweet, and 3. real around here. We really hope you enjoy our roundup of small town community news!

To kick things off, you could win some money if you complete our survey! Tell us about your local shopping habits and we’ll enter you to win $50! All answers will be anonymized.

(I’m pretty jazzed I found a legit reason to use the word “anonymized.”)

One more thing … we really love GIFs, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to make them work with our new website platform, so we’re switching to memes/other random internet things!

"I know I'm supposed to drink 8 glasses of water per day, but what usually happens is I drink 4 cups of coffee in an hour and then have an anxiety attack and forget how to stay alive."

Ok, NOW let’s get to some news from the February 8 edition of the Herald!

Happening tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the Student Council’s Dessert Auction, which will take place during halftime of the boys’ varsity basketball game at Meeker High School.

I would legit sell *at least* one kidney for a chance to enjoy desserts by these rockstar bakers. Don’t miss your opportunity!
