B. Curtis Smith, 78, died April 21, 2019, following a long illness.
Born Feb. 27, 1941, in Liberal, Kansas, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Smith.
Curt graduated from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, with a bachelor’s degree in botany.
Curt had been employed by the Bureau of Land Management for 31 years where he retired in Meeker, Colorado, as the district manager and then spent another 20 years consulting related to land management.
He participated and enjoyed many sports in school and was an avid Denver Bronco fan. Some of his favorite hobbies that he shared with his family were fishing, hunting and the love of the outdoors.
Curt is survived by his wife Sharon Smith; sons David (Michelle) Smith, Douglas (Jennifer) Smith; daughters Diana (Vernon) Harris, Danette (John) Kyle; step-daughters Teresa (Mark Miller) Waller, Misty (Shawn) Bolton, Jill Massey; brothers Jack Smith, Norman (Maxine) Smith, Ray (Bess) Smith; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In respect to Curt’s wishes, no services will be held.
