Mickey Deanne Steele was born on Oct. 23, 1942, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Vondel and Bernice (Olree) Wood. Her formative years were spent in Texas, living among many extended family members. After her parents divorced and Bernice re-married, Mickey moved to Rangely where she, her mom and her step-father, Paul Fox resided.
