One last final wink

MEEKER I Our community lost two wonderful people, with the recent deaths of Mr. Dean Parr and Mrs. Ruth King, both originals.
I’m thankful for growing up in Meeker and having many opportunities to receive one of Mr. Parr’s body-shaking handshakes and a pat on the back if I was within reach or a stalled wave, if passing on the road. I try to practice his patented, confirming wink everyday, yet my wife giggles when I attempt to make the “cheek-clicking” noise that accompanied Mr. Parr’s wink and pointed index finger.
I know Mrs. King, like Mr. Parr, influenced and inspired many in our community and I’m thankful for knowing them both/-).
