MEEKER | A team of paranormal investigators is returning to Meeker for another round of investigations.
Last weekend Hector Zeferino, the founder of Hotchkiss Paranormal Investigators (HPI), returned to Meeker to investigate potential paranormal activity in some of Meeker’s buildings. The HPI team last visited Meeker in 2016 for an investigation of the Meeker Hotel and Cafe.
The HPI team was founded in June 2012 by Zeferino and co-founder Ethan Coe. In September, the Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures” program spent three days working with HPI filming an episode at the Museum of the Mountain West in Montrose which aired Nov. 11, 2017.
“Once they (Ghost Adventures) left, they told us that they want to work with us from now on with locations in Colorado,” Zeferino said.
The team uses thermal imaging, night vision cameras, a “spirit box,” K2 meters and voice recorders in the research.
The full HPI team will be returning to Meeker the weekend of Feb. 23 to investigate the Hugus Building, the White River Museum, the Heritage Culture Center and two other Meeker locations to be added.
“We are looking forward to this huge event and can’t wait to see what these locations have in store for us,” Zeferino said.
Homeowners and business owners who have or know about sites with paranormal activity and would be interested in working with HPI are encouraged to send a private message to the team’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Hotchkiss-Paranormal-Investigators-339572346112279/.
