It is still March, still cold at night and there is still a lot of snow in piles all around Meeker, but these two bushes were blooming on Monday. It took a while to find some true signs of spring around Meeker, but the red buds, above, and the reddish stems with cotton-like buds, right, were looking good and strong as if they wait for the spring sun and heat just around the corner. Spring did officially begin last week, following the start of daylight savings time, which runs until November.
