RANGELY | The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the disappearance of Peter Christian Ruffner of Rangely. Ruffner, who resides west of Rangely, is described as a 66-year-old white male. He is approximately 6’2” and weighs 220 lbs.
Ruffner was reported missing on Sept. 29 by a concerned friend. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Deputies and search and rescue have conducted multiple searches in the area near Ruffner’s home including the use of helicopters, boats, scent dogs and swimmers.
In an interview Monday Sheriff Anthony Mazzola said he was, “really confident” that Ruffner was not in the area near his residence.
The Sheriff’s Office will continue the investigation into the disappearance and are following up on leads and interviewing friends and family.
“We are offering a reward for any information leading to his whereabouts,” said his daughter, Robyn Peterson. “We just want to know if he is safe.”
During the search of Ruffner’s residence deputies arrested Roger Morgan who was on the property. Morgan was arrested for felony possession of weapons and controlled substances.
