During the week of June 28 through July 4, there were 16 new reported cases of COVID-19 and three new hospitalizations. As of Monday, July 5 one individual remained hospitalized.
Rio Blanco County now has 12 confirmed cases of the Delta variant. The Delta variant is widely considered to be more contagious than the initial strain of the virus.
Vaccination rates remain low overall, with a total of 23 newly vaccinated individuals countywide last week. Approximately 35% of the eligible population (12 and up) have received at least one dose of vaccine.
