In a brief meeting on Jan. 8, Improvements at White River Village are still underway, according to Rangely Town Administrator Lisa Piering, including upgrading all the showers to be compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.
After the Office of Just Transition turned down a grant request for funding for the Cogency solar program because it “wouldn’t create enough jobs,” Piering said she expected to find out shortly if the project will move forward. That’s dependent on whether Cogency has secured funding on its own. A previous grant for improved river access was awarded by the Office of Just Transition, with construction anticipated in 2024.
Trustees approved a liquor license renewal for Kum N Go and a resolution to continue compensation for trustees and the mayor, and discussed the upcoming Ride the Rockies event in June and its potential impacts.
