Having just spoken to the last of the five area wildlife managers in Northwest Colorado, I’d say all conditions exist in this quadrant of the state for darned good hunting, regardless of the species being sought.

Memorial Day was quite enjoyable around Rio Blanco County with the towns nearly deserted but area activities — mostly outdoors — keeping a lot of people from leaving the area for the three-day weekend.

The TELL Colorado survey, carried out every two years statewide, is a great learning tool for the school districts concerned. It is a confidential survey done solely by state-certified instructors at Colorado elementary, middle and high schools.

The Meeker Town Board meeting on May 7 was an interesting study in community involvement as roughly 70 residents of the town attended, ready to voice their opinions and ask questions regarding the use of the old elementary school in downtown Meeker.
