MEEKER | Three Meeker residents were seriously injured last Tuesday, June 10, on Hwy. 13 between Meeker and Craig in an early morning collision with a large boulder that had fallen onto the highway. All three men were airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Bill Pool and Darrell LaRose, Meeker residents since 2007, remained hospitalized as of Monday, June 16. Pool owns Bill Pool Flooring and works with LaRose. Also in the vehicle was Pool’s future son-in-law, Joe Masood, who moved to Meeker this spring and also works for Pool.

Pool’s daughter, Leah Dilldine, said via email “all recovery is six months or longer” and a release date from the hospital is uncertain as both her father and LaRose sustained multiple injuries.

According to a GoFundMe page for Masood, the three men were on their way to pick up materials for a flooring job when they hit the boulder.

A GoFundMe account has been established to help the families involved with medical bills and lost income during their recovery. To donate, visit https://gofund.me/49b206bc
