MEEKER | This is the third year of Mountain Valley Bank’s Tour de Meeker. The Memorial Day to Labor Day challenge provides a plethora of opportunities to earn points and win prizes by completing as many challenge items as possible, exploring our vast local “backyard” in the process. Last year 98 people participated.
There are activities on the Tour for all ages and abilities, and you don’t have to finish them all to earn points for prizes. Everything from “roast marshmallows around a campfire” to “dare to stand on/near Devil’s Causeway” with 2023 included in the photo.
Prizes begin with your first post. You can stop by Mountain Valley Bank to pick up a sticker for your laptop or water bottle. For additional points, earn a T-shirt (150 points), water bottle (800 points), or soft cooler (1,500 points). The grand prize for the highest number of accumulated points is $200 in Chamber Bucks.
The Tour is Facebook-based and selfie-strong, for ease of keeping track of participants and points, but non-Facebook users can ask a friend or family member to post for them. To sign up, join the Tour de Meeker Facebook group and complete the enrollment form. Each time you complete one of the listed activities, submit the Google activity form and post a photo (selfie or otherwise) that proves you completed the activity on the Facebook group to earn prizes. Activities can only be done once for points.
