MEEKER | With Mayor Kent Borchard and Mayor Pro Temp Travis Day absent, Trustee Wendy Gutierrez was appointed to lead Tuesday’s board meeting.
Board members heard an invitation from Jan Zuber on behalf of the Rio Blanco County Pioneers Association for this year’s dinner/dance on June 3. “It’s now open to everyone to come. You could have moved here a week ago and you are invited to come,” Zuber said. The deadline for reservations is May 15, and reservations can be made online here: https://rbcpioneers.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/registration_2023.pdf.
Two bids for the paving project on 11th and 12th streets were opened and will be reviewed by staff for recommendation. Trustees approved donations to the Meeker Girls’ Youth Softball team for $1,000, and a $1,500 donation to Range Call.
The board reviewed and approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bureau of Land Management to be a cooperating agency on the White River Storage Project/Wolf Creek Reservoir and heard an update on the progress of the Circle Park Phase 2 project.
Town Administrator Mandi Etheridge provided updates for the board, including the completion of the Shaman Trail waterline project, a court-ordered code enforcement project, planning department updates and upcoming meetings and staff changes.
