MEEKER | In what may have been the shortest Meeker town meeting in recent memory, trustees approved an update for Smoking River Brewing Co.’s liquor license that will allow them to serve beer and wine outside during their larger events, such as Oktoberfest. Town staff recommended approval with the contingency that they notify the police department ahead of time.
Outgoing town clerk Lisa Cook performed her last official swearing-in ceremony for her replacement, Dannie Massey.
Cook also noted that “the parks are up and going and looking much better,” referring to the public works department’s takeover of maintenance duties for the town’s seven park properties, previously overseen by the recreation district.
