As of press time Wednesday Proposition HH, which promised property tax relief in exchange for a long-term reduction in Taxpayer Bill of Rights refunds, had failed to obtain voter approval statewide.
Rio Blanco County voters also voted against the proposition 1,527 to 327.
Proposition II was approved statewide, allowing the state to retain tax revenue collected on the sale of nicotine products and use the funds for preschool programs.
In RBC, voters did not approve Proposition II, with “no” votes totaling 1,136 and “yes” votes totaling 714 in unofficial results.
Of the 4,364 active registered voters in RBC, 1,865 ballots — 42.74% — were cast on the two midterm election measures.
