The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. Meeker Dispatch Center received 546 phone calls last week including 20 911 calls, 77 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 159 outgoing calls. A total of 184 calls for service were created, 90 for the Sheriff’s Office, 76 for MPD and seven assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 24 traffic stops, issued two citations and MPD had 13 stops issuing 12 warnings. Highway 13 had three traffic stops, issued two citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 16 agency assists, three 911 hang ups, 11 animal calls, four civil papers served, four citizen assists, three motorist assists, three suspicious incidents, five traffic complaints, four VIN inspections, three warrant arrests and one each: juvenile problem, K-9 deployment traffic hazard, trespass.
Meeker Police Department calls included three agency assists, two 911 hangups, 11 animal calls, 10 business checks, two citizen assists, 16 code enforcement warnings issued, two suspicious incidents, 11 VIN inspections and one each: civil, juvenile problem, motorist assists, property, theft, traffic accident.
There were three calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including one ambulance request, one alarm and one vehicle crash with injuries.
There were five assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in six, five by the Sheriff’s Office, one by MPD. Six inmates were released and had one jail incident. There were four transports to or from another facility and currently there are 15 inmates in the facility.
There was one DUI arrests and there were five traffic crashes in the county, one involving a deer, two others were injury accidents.
