MEEKER — A worker for a pipeline services company was injured in a skid steer accident Sept. 15.
The worker, David Husman, 34, from Anamosa, Iowa, worked for Abercrombie Pipeline Services of Bozeman, Mont., a sub-contractor for Rust Construction.
Husman was injured when he and two other workers were loading a skid steer onto a trailer.
The operator of the skid steer became distracted and unintentionally lowered the boom, “dropping the attachment onto the victim’s back,” said Mike Joos, Rio Blanco County undersheriff.
“After realizing what had happened, the operator raised the boom and the victim was removed from under the attachment,” Joos said.
Husman was transported to Pioneers Medical Center and later flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Joos said. A representative with St. Mary’s said last weekend that Husman was no longer listed as a patient.
