Alton “Bud” Miles, Jr., of Meeker, Colorado, left his earthly vessel to receive his glorified body on April 21, 2019.
He was born in Kilgore, Texas, on March 21, 1940, to Alton Leroy Miles Sr. and Pauline (Edwards) Miles. Bud graduated from Gladewater High School in 1958 and received an associate’s degree from Colorado Northwestern Community College and numerous technical certifications. He was married to the love of his life Pam (Halford) on April 14, 1979.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alton Leroy Miles, Sr. and Pauline Miles and leaves behind with anticipation of seeing again his loving wife Pam (Meeker, Colorado); siblings Paul Miles (Clovis, California), Sharon Kellogg (Ft. Morgan, Colorado), Gary Miles (Ft. Morgan, Colorado); children Tony Miles (Grand Junction, Colorado), Shaun Roark (Ft. Morgan, Colorado), Bob Roark (Lakewood, Colorado) and Chris Roark (Bridgeport, Ohio) and 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends too many to number.
Bud lived a lifetime of community service including wastewater management, pastor and volunteer firefighter/emergency medical service, underwater search and rescue, Rio Blanco County and Town of Meeker planning commissions, and the Pioneers Hospital Board. However, his greatest passion was his love for the Lord Jesus Christ and the sharing of the Gospel not only by means of preaching but in the way that he lived his life.
Celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Meeker 4-H Building at 700 Sulphur Creek Road in Meeker, Colorado followed by graveside services at Highland Cemetery also in Meeker.
