n Last weekend’s strong winds finally blew in the expected storm which dropped eight inches of wet snow on Meeker Sunday night. The snow contained .40 of an inch of much-needed moisture but quickly melted with temperatures rebounding up into the mid-60s by Wednesday.
n Spring has traditionally been a busy time for Meeker’s volunteer fire department and this year is no exception as the department responded to three fires this past week, one on the Mesa, one on Piceance Creek, and one on Milk Creek. Fire Chief Mike Washburn urged rural residents not to burn ditches during high winds.
