Spring Concert…

Members of the Meeker High School Band, directed by Jeff Hemingson, right, performed four selections at Monday’s 2015 Spring Concert, including: “Whiplash,” “With Every Winter’s Breath,” “Gates of Lodore” and “Variations on a Scottish Folksong.” The MHS auditorium held a good crowd for the presentation involving the sixth grade band, seventh grade band, eighth grade band, the MHS Jazz Band, the MHS Choir and the MHS Band.

Logan Kinnamon, right, a senior at Meeker High School, holds a demonstration U.S. Army check for $61,812, representing the Montgomery GI Bill money Kinnamon will receive for continuing education once he leaves the Army. The check was presented by Staff Sgt. Scott Mackay, MHS’s special Army representative. The check presentation earned a standing ovation at the May 11 MHS awards assembly.
