Winter fun…

The ERBM Recreation and Park District’s Winter Entertainment Series took place this past weekend. There were games in downtown Meeker on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at several of the parks around town. On Friday afternoon on the courthouse lawn, this young lady tried out her luck with snowshoes. It was slow going for a while until she caught on. The Friday and Saturday events were sponsored by the ERBM Recreation and Park District in the downtown area on Friday and at three town parks on Saturday.

The overall winner of the race event at Paintbrush Park on Saturday was Xavier Buisker, left, who is assisted in holding his winning trophy by his father, Adam. The entire Buisker family participated, and Xavier’s sister, Lilly, won a ribbon as well. As soon as the races were over, free hot dogs and hamburgers were served to the participants by Bobby Gutierrez of Wendll’s/Cuppa Joe.
