MEEKER I The It’s Showtime 4-H Club met Sunday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. Pledges were led by Brodee Kilduff, Milo Brennan and Rylan Ivy. Tatumn Kennedy gave information about important upcoming dates for everyone to mark their calendars or to be aware of. Demonstrations followed, with Hattie and Milo Brennan on rope braiding, Miles Franklin on parts of a archery bow, Jayci Chintala on how to treat parasites in poultry, Jace Vroman on the monogastric digestive system, Mollee Vroman on the ruminant digestive system, Miles Etchart with what sheep products — excluding wool — can become, and Owen Etchart on things to look for when picking a 4-H lamb.
Important dates coming up:
• Feb. 17-18 is officer training
• Feb. 27 beef weigh-in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• May 16 sheep, goat and swine weigh-in from 5-7 p.m.
• June 27 poultry and rabbit weigh-in from 5 to 7 p.m.
• March 10 is a MANDATORY first year livestock family orientation meeting
Opportunity for community pride project (Meeker Skijor):
• Feb. 18 setup
• Feb. 19 pickup after event
• Feb. 20 tear down when it’s over
Show up and the Meeker Skijor committee will help direct you to where you can help out!
