RANGELY | Rangely picked up a league win over the Hayden Tigers last Saturday. The Panthers outscored the Tigers in each of the first three quarters, but an uneven defensive effort allowed Hayden to stay close. Hayden mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter, however the Panthers maintained their composure and capitalized on free throws.
Riley Boydstun sank all six of his free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Panthers hang on for a 46-42 victory. Micah Zenner led all scorers with 15 points, followed by Sydney Cole and Riley Boydstun with eight points each.
The Panthers pulled down 31 rebounds, led by nine from Zenner, and Dylan LeBleu dished out three assists.
The JV boys also earned a victory courtesy of a good defensive effort. The Panthers had a non-conference game against Olathe at home on Tuesday, Jan. 8 and lost 65-46. They will play pair of league matches on Friday at Vail Christian and Saturday at home versus Plateau Valley.
