WEEKLY CALL REVIEW
The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

The dispatch center processed 464 phone calls this last week, receiving 24 911 calls, answered 68 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 117 outgoing phone calls. A total of 149 calls for service were created, 80 for the Sheriff’s Office, 69 for MPD. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 19 traffic stops issued one citation and MPD had 16 stops and issued 16 warnings. Highway 13 south had five traffic stops with one citation.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included five 911 hang-ups,15 agency assists, nine animal calls, seven civil papers served, three business checks, three suspicious incidents, three traffic complaints, four traffic hazards and one each: ATV (fatal) accident, civil, wildland fire, juvenile problem, motorist assist, theft, trespass and VIN inspection.
Meeker Police Department calls included six agency assists, one 911 misdial, three animal calls, 17 business checks, seven citizen assists, two fire ban violations, two juvenile problems, two traffic complaints, traffic hazards and four VIN inspections. One each: citizen assist, civil, DUI, motorist assist, property, sex assault, suspicious incident, traffic accident.
There were nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including three medical transfers, four ambulance requests, one residential alarm and one wildland fire.
There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol (CSP). One DUI accident.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in six and released three. RBSO, MPD and CSP each had one arrest and three from Rangely PD. Staff transported two from or to other facilities. There are currently 11 inmates in the facility.
There were two DUI arrests and four accidents in the county, three involving a deer.
