MEEKER — The 9Health Fair gives students the opportunity to be leaders to promote health awareness and to encourage individuals to assume responsibility for their own health.
Debbie Cook and Adam Hoatson are in charge of coordinating the following events with the students.
Meeker Elementary on Oct. 29 and Barone Middle School on Oct. 30 are the places to be where students can see a tar-filled pig lung, feel a replica of the human brain and get their blood pressure checked all in the same day.
Such organizations as the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Meeker Fire Department, Meeker Police Department, Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, the respiratory and cardiopulmonary unit from Pioneers Hospital, White River Electric, oral screening and Rio Blanco Extension Service will provide a variety of interactive educational activities for the students.
This year for the first time we are able to invite the parents and public to view all the exhibits your child has been exposed to throughout the day of the fair. The fair will be open to the public at Meeker Elementary on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 5-7 p.m. Please come join us in the challenge to create a healthy lifestyle for all our students.
