Robena A. Emmons, widely known as Bennie, passed away in her home in Rangely on Sept. 20, 2010. She was born in Craig on Nov. 11, 1939, to Ben and Ethel Hedges. Bennie was 70 years old and one of eight children. Raised on a homestead north of Craig, Bennie lived in the states of Colorado, Montana, Alaska and Oklahoma.
Bennie is survived by her three sisters, Delores Unger of Oklahoma, Anita Reed of Colorado and Jean Jordan also of Colorado; four children Glenda Wigley, Cindy Osborn, Gordan Osborn and Arlene Hart; six grand children Brandan Wigley, Chris Wigley, Verity Ryder, Ben Osborn, Jasmine DeFreitas and Colton Hart; eight great-grandchildren, various nieces and nephews and three step-daughters.
Bennie was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and her daughter Beth Ann.
Bennie will be remembered for her love of children, animals and growing plants. She will be missed by all who loved her.
There will not be a formal memorial service.
